EDUCATION
Proven Caring and Passionate Leadership
School Divisions province-wide have had a challenging two or so years.
From unprecedented leadership losses due to the uncertainty with Bill 64
to massive pivoting during the pandemic.
Our school divisions along with our communities have come out of one of the
most stressful times we've seen in recent history.

We need to get back to focusing on education.
Our 4100 or so students, along with their parents deserve a board
that will work towards recovery learning.
As a school board, we must set the direction for the future.
We must learn from the past, but our focus on the future is what will create a stable,
consistent, and safe culture for our children and our over 700+ staff.

WHY LEAH
In my 12 years on the GVSD board, I have had the opportunity
to be surrounded by a fantastic community of lifelong learners.

I am not an educator, so I am curious about the whys.
I'm continually asking why we do the things we do in the classroom
and how that benefits our children.
As a mom of 2 children, I have lived the reality that not all children learn the same,
nor do all children have the same goals.
I believe we need to prepare our children well for the path they choose for their lives.
This means ensuring that our graduates are prepared for
University, trade school, or the workforce. All are equally important.
