WHAT HAVE WE ACCOMPLISHED
Serving on the school board for 12 years has been an honour.
It has been the dedication of 9 individuals around the table working toward a common goal.
While individually we may have had differing view points at times, collectively
the last 3 boards have done great work together.
During that time, the board has strived to be approachable and transparent.
We have been accessible to our parents and honoring our staff by staying within our policies.
This means knowing the organizational chart and policies while helping parents access
the correct contact person if there are problems.
We are walking alongside parents while they advocate for their children.

We agreed each child is entitled to access equal education.
We supported and encouraged the Literacy Initiative, which resulted in a marked increase
in children reading at or above grade level within our division.
We also made numeracy a priority and have supported a process to help children do their best and succeed.

During my time we went through a period of great growth, building three schools.
This is unheard of in any other rural division!
While bright and shiny hold appeal we did not want our older buildings to be undervalued.
With the help of our community we pledged to not forget our older schools.
From the renovation at GVC to the new exterior at WES,
our board has been committed to making each building a place where
students and staff want to spend their time.
